Noteworthy Locations

Shuri Castle — A gusuku (Ryūkyūan castle) in Shuri, Okinawa. It was the palace of the Ryūkyū Kingdom. In 1945, during the Battle of Okinawa, it was almost completely destroyed, with only a few walls standing as high as a few decimeters. In 1992, it was reconstructed on the original site based on photographs, historical records, and memory.

Yui Rail — The Okinawa City Monorail Line is a monorail line in Naha. Operated by Okinawa Urban Monorail Incorporated, it opened on August 10, 2003, and is currently the only functioning public rail system in Okinawa Prefecture.

Naha Airport — It is a second class airport located in the city of Naha. The primary air terminal for passengers and freight traveling to and from Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, the airport handles international traffic to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, and China. Japan's fifth largest airport, it also carries domestic flights to Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) and many other cities on Japan's four main islands.

Okinawa Prefecture Office — One of the tallest buildings in the city, and was the center for Japanese governmental functions stretching across Okinawa Prefecture. There are 14 floors above ground and two below including a civic hall and government information center. It now serves as the local headquarters for the Revival Project.
