History

Christine remembers nothing of Toulouse, where she was born. Her family relocated to Paris, and she was provided with a substantial and nurturing upbringing. When Christine wasn't frolicking across a stage for her latest ballet recital, or learning about a different concentration of the arts, she had her nose stuck in books. She never considered herself naturally brilliant, but she was one of the hardest workers to be found in her secondary school. This, along with her own talent and her parent's monetary contributions, granted Christine and her older sister, Yvonne, access to the prestigious Conservatoire De Paris. The experience and friendships made in the conservatory were invaluable to Christine, and she always wanted to find a way to repay her parents for nurturing her dancing abilities.

2004 was a promising time for all; Yvonne married a fellow violinist, and Christine highly approved of their relationship. She soon auditioned for entrance into the New York City Ballet Company, and found herself presented with the opportunity of a lifetime. She moved to New York a bit after Yvonne and Marc's union, and slipped into her new life like a glove. Everything was progressing accordingly until the outbreak occurred at the beginning of 2009. Christine's parents, brother-in-law, and only nephew were lost to the tragic spread of infection. Yvonne developed powers of a very foreboding nature, and It was a heartbreaking loss for both sisters, and Christine found herself feeling a great deal of guilt for escaping the fate of her family members due to her geographic location. But her relentless optimism and faith in humanity kept her from succumbing to her despair, and she soon began to foster her unique new skills.

However, the impact of losing almost all of her immediate family did change a few things in her lifestyle. Dancing was like riding a bike for Christine, and her boss realized that she'll never forget how to do it. With that in mind, he granted her request for a brief vacation away from work in order to find a way to get to Paris and be there for her sister–no matter who or what gets in her way–and spend more time on using her abilities for the public good. Her fellow dancers always did prefer to call her "Mother Theresa", after all. Her most recent of days have been devoted to randomly reviving some dead things in Central Park, and helping out at soup kitchens. The last of the two things was something that she had always wanted to try, but never found time to. She's glad that she can finally feel like she's sort of giving back to those that have less than her.

Personality

Christine never possessed swan-like grace, in her opinion. But she somehow was gifted with an ability to do ballet, and that was always enough for her. In fact, Christine was never one to crave or need extravagance; she just happened to be born into it, and co-exist with it without being sucked into it's allures. She constantly tries to protest when others want to do things for her, and she was on the verge of a raging argument with her parents about attending the Conservatory despite her overwhelming yearning to go. The idea of being handed everything just doesn't seem fair to her, and she knows that her life was clearly destined to work that way. That doesn't mean that Christine doesn't rebel against it, of course. Christine is a profound listener and self-proclaimed psychologist whenever somebody wants to talk, and she doesn't think that complaints are necessary as long as all of her limbs are in tact.

With that in mind, Christine is actually on the socially awkward side of things, sometimes. She can be shy and stumble all over her words if she's around strangers, even though she's really going out of her way to be friendly. You're a friend of hers for life, if you manage to get closer to her, and she thinks that forgiveness is one of the most important and difficult virtues to master. She gives everybody the benefit of the doubt, and she doesn't like to admit that this isn't always the best way to deal with other people. Christine is also an extremely hard worker, and there is some toughness to her when it comes to getting things done. She feels that everybody needs to keep going and functioning no matter what the circumstances are, or else society will grind to a halt with ease. She also believes that some form of a divine being intervenes and that he does things for certain reasons, which is why she turned away from dancing for this brief amount of time.

Other tidbits of Information

  • She's seriously considering floristry, once her dancing career's over. She never fully appreciated how beautiful flowers could be, and sort of forgot due to living in a not-so-green metropolis, until she developed her powers.
  • An occasional social drinker, and nothing more. She does well to remain healthy in every aspect, because dancing requires too much strength and stamina to not be physically sound.
  • She lacks her sister's talent with music, and couldn't sing or play a note if she bet her life on it.
  • Doesn't really practice proper Christianity anymore, but she's very spiritual and believes that sins and good deeds mean something in the end.
  • She started learning English as soon as she got to the States, so she's still got some of her accent when she speaks it.
  • Refuses to acklowledge her academic strength. Christine may not have been the quickest to get things, but she spent remarkable amounts of time on studying and did rather well in school.
  • Also completely inept in the kitchen. Anything that is good for you and microwavable is what goes into her mouth most of the time, but she's also partial to eating breakfast foods at odd hours of the day.
  • She likes befriending the homeless people that she meets in the soup kitchens. She will probably get into trouble for that, someday.
  • Has never been in a serious relationship. She's been on tons of dates, but she has never maintained an actual boyfriend for much longer than a week or two. It's not that she's against committment; on the contrary, she can't wait to find the right guy, if he exists. Her shy nature and uncertainty just keeps her from getting in too deep with one guy. Her judgement in men is usually pretty good, though. She'll open up when the right one comes along.
  • On that note, she's still a vergin. Christine is very traditional like that.
