personality

Arrogant, conceded, apathetic. Vergil is a man who considers all else around him to be trash and not worth his time, more willing to toss them out a window than spend more than the tolerated time in their presences. His strict up bringing and twisted morals made him who he is today, a bastard among bastards who has the tolerance of five seconds before someone is killed or thrown out a window. He hates idiots, even more so hates those who refuse to gain knowledge or accept their fate. He will belittle, scorn and even torment those who he hates, if he does not kill them upon first meeting.

Vergil is a refined man, able to keep his calm even in life threatening situations, he is overconfident because he knows he’s right, he knows he’ll be fine and there is no way he’ll die. He is intelligent, more so than most he knows, and an incredibly strategic man, often planning hundreds of steps ahead before anyone realizes it. He is good at reading people, a trait that helps him plan his next move and believes he knows the habits of others quite well as everyone is simply human once you strip away the needless layers.

He isn’t an exception to that rule, underneath the layers of apathy, arrogance and superiority he is also simply human. While it’ll take a shit load of stuff to rattle him, he can still be rattled, he can still be scared, terrified, friendly, loving and all those things he finds useless and annoying if he so chooses. He will, however, put on a friendly front to deceive others, usually if he wants them for something or is simply messing with someone’s mind. While he may appear it, no one ever said that Vergil was sane.

history

Vergil D'Aubigne was brought up in a strict family with certain guidelines that had to be abided by, he was the first son, the perfect son that his parents wanted, he rose up to their expectations from a young age, his calm and stoic nature completely mirroring his younger brother’s energy and vigor. He was smart, even if pre-school they saw this, even at a young age he was strategic, often playing war games with his younger brother and effortlessly winning. He was a book nerd and thirsted for knowledge, by the time he reached the age of ten he had already read half of the library’s books, sans the kiddy ones. It was also at that age where his parent’s divorced, his mother, an American dancer and his little brother went to the US while he remained with his father.

He blitzed through school with flying colors and was in line to succeed his father in the family owned finance company, that was supposed to be the utmost honor for Vergil, but instead he refused, flying from France to the US to visit his mother and brother, eventually ending up living there for a matter of fifteen years. In that time he got himself a law degree and took over a dying casino, eventually Vergil became an incredibly devious business man whom was rumored to be more two face than any man who had ever owned that casino, he even began to branch out, franchising the casino in a number of places in the US before heading back and establishing some in France.

By the time he reached 27 he managed to establish casino’s in 12 major cities around the world, Paris being where his major offices were located. When the outbreak hit, he lost a lot of people as well as a few of his precious casinos. Of course for the most part he didn’t let it bother him, people can be replaced and buildings can be rebuilt if they needed too. Although he was shaken, despite his calm and apathetic demeanor, Vergil was worried for his mother and brother. Flying to the US he searched for them desperately, unaware of the ticking time-bomb that laid rest inside of him.

When he found them something snapped, they were alive yes, but his mother had remarried to a horrible man, a man who had clearly been abusing his younger brother. This caused him to snap, without realizing it he flew into an uncontrollable rage and his abilities manifested, transforming into a demon he murdered his mother and her horrible husband before passing out in a pool of both of their blood. His brother, one and a half years his younger, hadn’t witnessed what had happened and for the sake of his sibling he said it had been the infected who had killed them.

As soon as he recovered they flew back to Paris, where they came face to face with their father, Vergil shooed his brother away before killing the very man who spawned him. There was no reason to kill him, but he did out of pure anger and irritation, however his brother saw it and fled a few hours later. With his family practically destroyed Vergil shut himself away from the world, every now and again appearing for simple things like food and such, remaining that way for months before emerging again. As cold and apathetic as he was before.

abilities

DEMONIC MANIPULATION — All in Vergil can control, manipulate even turn into the legions of hell; demons, devils and all those big bad nasties you hear about in stories. He is able to manipulate his own biological structure and give himself the attributes of those said creatures, wings, horns, teeth, whatever he wants he can add to himself as well as turn into them if he so pleases.

SENSES — He is able to increase his senses tenfold, more so than that of a animal, his demonic senses are on all the time, a passive ability which remains active even when he sleeps. He is able to sense people, may they be infected or not, before they reach him; hear practically any sound from a grand distance of a mile away; see further as well as see in the dark; his sense of smell increases as well yet not so much as the others.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES — Vergil can also increases his physical abilities while still in human form, although it requires concentration and can sometimes fail.

REGENERATIVE HEALING FACTOR — Vergil is able to heal at abnormal speeds, cuts takes seconds, he can regrow limbs or reattach them if he so pleases, regenerate a hole to the chest, broken bones, bullets to the head. Any wound he can heal with little to no effort. It makes him impossible to kill, however there is one way to kill him. Remove his head from his body, while he can regrow limbs he cannot regrow his own head, removing his head from his body is the only way to kill him. This also makes him rather resistant to drugs, diseases and infections.

FIRST FORM — He can transform into a demon himself, a scaled beast possessing leather like wings, horns, fangs and claws. In this form his power is increased dramatically, as is his speed, agility and regenerative abilities. To maintain this form he must keep his human mind strong, for the consciousness of the demon will fight to take control and kill everything, not only the infected, because of this the time that Vergil is to be able to be in this form is limited. It is his first form and the only he is able to access as this time. If Vergil's will weakens he will go berserk and kill everything he sees, the only way to stop him once he gets like this is to kill him or knock him out.

SUMMONING — Vergil can summon demons from different cultures, games, movies, stories and command them to do his bidding, their obedience depends on his will, if shaken the control will weaken and the demons can break free and wreck havoc on the world until they are killed.

Maria D'Aubigne — Mother; deceased. She was a wonderful woman until the day he found out she was seeing some guy who abused his younger brother, she died because of that idiocy.
Pierre D'Aubigne — Father; deceased. Never really liked him, he wanted Vergil to take over the financial company, Vergil said no and later killed him too.
Michael D'Aubigne — Younger Brother; alive. Mention of Michael around Vergil is the cardinal rule of life, you don't do it nor do you even bother to use one of those "your brother" jokes. Despite the falling out they currently had he still holds Michael near and dear to him, he's searching behind the scenes for him in his spare time and hates to think that perhaps because of what Vergil did his younger brother hates him.

Dante — The term friend is used incredibly loosely with this guy, at this point in time he is probably the only person he really tolerates. He hates the guy, he does, it is simple as that, not only is he an idiot but he makes such crude jokes that Vergil would love to rip out his intestines and strangle him with them as throwing him out a window doesn't seem to work, but he also finds it incredibly amusing to consistently hit on him. But at the same time he won't out right kill the guy, he has proven to be mildly amusing and somewhat helpful when he isn't trying to get into Vergil's pants, but just because he won't kill the guy doesn't mean he can't beat the living shit out of him.
Tristan — Again, the word friend is used loosely, however he does like this guy well enough not to throw him out a window or contemplate murdering him. Meet him in one of his casinos in Paris trying to score for the night, his sheer snark and assholisms appealed to Vergil and he found out after a drink or two that they actually mesh rather well personality wise, they snark at people together and be complete assholes. It is entertaining and he finds how particular Tristan is about music to be rather amusing.
Billie — Once upon a time when he was just starting out as an awesome casino owner, he hired dear Billie as one of his dancers for shows and what not. She impressed him with how much of a good worker she was and how easily she was to get along with, after she moved on he kept in contact with her for the sheer joy of their friendly pissing matches. She is a good dancer after all, he likes to support the ones he knows will go far. Despite the fact he will not admit it, she has become something of a sister like figure to him, he'll deny it when asked but will probably murder anyone who tries to hurt her.
Sun-Hi — Bumped into her on one of his trips to god knows where, she is entertaining which is probably why he kept in contact. He'll admit he enjoys a woman with a brain and spunk, they often prove to be interesting in some way or form. They have snark battles most of the times and sometimes pretty intelligent conversations. He finds it amusing that she is the chick that Tristan hates, lolz. She is someone who has managed to gain his trust (to a certain degree), to the point he even told her about his brother, not to mention one of the reasons he learn Korean was so he could talk to her without people he knows snooping. She tends to get him on his good moods, or pleasant moods, often the subject of his sarcastic niceness.

Kyung — Vergil enjoys talking to snarky people, Kyung happens to be one of them. They're incredibly flippant to what the other says, most of the time talking about god only knows what only to throw it away without a thought. He isn't intrusive or overly annoying, which is something that Vergil likes, they even have intelligent conversations from time to time.
Lee — He meet the kid when he visited London shortly after the outbreak, because of his control over demonic forces Lee became his minion of sorts, in all seriousness he tolerates the kid because he is incredibly creepy. He is mildly entertaining and doesn't complain, he also calls Vergil master which is, to a point, gratifying. He doesn't control the boy against his own will, in fact he if wanted to fight back he could, but he doesn't. No licking his boots though. His patience for the kid is limited and sometimes wants to kick him in the jaw for being overly irritating.
