Noteworthy Locations

Transamerica Pyramid — Currently the headquarters for the Revival Project. the tallest and most recognizable skyscraper in the San Francisco skyline. Designed by architect William Pereira, at a height of 260 m (853 ft), it is currently tied for 105th tallest building in the world.

Chinatown — The oldest Chinatown in North America. It was also home to the largest Chinese community outside of Asia. Established in the 1850s, it has featured significantly in popular culture venues such as film, music, photography and literature. It was one of the largest and most prominent centers of Chinese activity outside of China.

Alcatraz — Known locally as The Rock, is a small island located in the middle of San Francisco Bay. It served as a lighthouse, then a military fortification, then a military prison followed by a federal prison until 1963. It became a national recreation area in 1972 and received landmarking designations in 1976 and 1986. Presently, it is functioning as a prison for the Revival Project for more dangerous people, although that is not publicly known.

Fisherman's Wharf — It is a neighborhood and popular tourist attraction in San Francisco. It roughly encompasses the northern waterfront area of San Francisco from Ghirardelli Square or Van Ness Avenue east to Pier 35 or Kearny Street. It is best known for being the location of Pier 39, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, the Cannery Shopping Center, Ghirardelli Square, a Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, the Musée Mécanique, the Wax Museum at Fisherman's Wharf, Forbes Island and restaurants and stands that serve fresh seafood, most notably dungeness crab and clam chowder served in a sourdough bread bowl.

Golden Gate Bridge — A suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay onto the Pacific Ocean. As part of both U.S. Route 101 and State Route 1, it connects the city of San Francisco on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula to Marin County. The Golden Gate Bridge was the longest suspension bridge span in the world when it was completed during the year 1937, and has become an internationally recognized symbol of San Francisco and California. Since its completion, the span length has been surpassed by eight other bridges

Bay Bridge — A multi-structure toll bridge complex that spans San Francisco Bay and links Oakland and San Francisco, as part of Interstate 80. It used to carry approximately 270,000 vehicles per day. It has one of the longest spans in the world and is one of the seven engineering wonders of the modern world. It is currently closed to traffic.
